What my website does for me.

The topic on Flaming Hot! this week, is “What does your website do for you?”

Mostly what my website does is give me a place to house a catalog of made to order beads and is a directory of where else people can find my work. I also host daily specials on the site for loyal browsers to check out every day.

I see my website as the starting place for my online gallery of work. People can come and browse my work, read about me and Greg, get to know us a bit. Then they can branch out to various other outlets that we carry our work at; Ebay, Justbeads, and Etsy. There is also a link to this blog for people who wish to hear what I want to ramble on about.

So is it just a marker on the internet yellow pages? I don’t think so. I think it is a peak into my little world where folks can get to know me a bit. So I think the question should be, What does my website do for other people? I hope it does something, otherwise I have been waisting a lot of time. 🙂

Do you listen to the Universe? Does it listen to you?

Recently by good friend Susan Sheehan blogged about something listening to her thoughts. Things she wanted to happen started happening all over the place. I believe the universe was listening.

I truly do think that if you put your intentions out there, that is where you will be lead. For instance, here is one of my own examples. I had always thought that it would be wonderful to have a job/career that I could do anywhere. So I could live anywhere I wanted. From a very young age I have wanted this and thought this. It stemmed really from wanting to live in a small mountain town, in Northern Ca. I still love the mountains in CA, however I know I just couldn’t do cold snow for that long. Anyway I digress. I didn’t know what the job would be or how it would come about, but it is here. I now have a job where I can live anywhere, thanks to the internet.

Another example. About 9 months before I quit my last “real” job, I was at a mangers meeting doing one of those “get to know each other” exercises. The question was posed, if you could do anything, anything at all, what would it be? My answer was to have the freedom to travel anywhere, all over the US for an unlimited amount of time. Three months later we bough the RV. Six months later I was unemployed, homeless and making my way to Maine for the summer. At the time I had no idea how that could be done, it was just something I put out there.

I think you get the gist. I think we should put our intentions “out there”….then listen carefully for when the universe answers us, so we don’t let it pass us by. I could have easily let my chance to roam the US in the RV pass me by. It does sound crazy to sell your house and quit your job to go wondering around vagabondish. However, from that adventure I got to travel the US for 4 and 1/2 years and I ended up with a job that means I can live anywhere. Thank you Universe!

My next intention is to write a book and get published. I hope you are listening Universe…I know I am.

Daily Specials on Etsy now!

New news with the bead business.  I will now be offering one daily special in my Etsy store each day.  The item will be 25% off and it will rotate each day.  The special for that particular item is only good for the 24 hours it is listed.  If you don’t see an item listed under daily specials, it means that item sold that day and a new one will be added the next day.  Be sure to check back daily to see what I have going on.  🙂

A Glorious Day!

It is gorgeous out today!  I have a load of computer work to do, but I just can’t help myself.  The dog wanted to go out, so I took her.  The sun is bright and warm, with a slight breeze.  Spring is in the air.  Flowers are blooming.  Yesterday was 80 degrees!  I think we are in to a 70 degree day today and while I am suppose to be editing pictures and going through my emails, I took a detour instead.  I trimmed back my boulganvilla plants that are starting to sprout green.  I wanted to clear away the dead branches in hopes it blooms faster.  Yes, I have patience issues.  I also spotted some green sprouting on my hibiscus plants, two of the three anyway and the third one is the slower growing one, so I have high hopes!  I watered a few things then just spent time admiring the pear tree that is blooming and saying hi to the lizards.  Today is the kind of day I wished my lap top wasn’t a dinosaur and I could do my work computer work on the porch.
